I'm dreaming of a White Christmas Party

With the Holiday Season in  full swing, you may be finding yourself behind with your to do list.  I know around this time of year I can be pretty last minute with gift buying and party planning.  Making plans to get together with friends or hosting a party seems to be next to impossible.  But with inspiration and a picture in mind, you would be surprised how much you can pull off on short notice.  It doesn't have to be elaborate to be successful - but with a few creative touches and a theme in mind, you can create table-scapes and color coordinate party foods to assemble a great party for your guests.  The theme that inspires me most this  Christmas is Winter Wonderland.  A monochromatic take on a White Christmas themed party.  I am thinking if I create a Winter Wonderland in my home that the Snow angels will give us lots of white fluffy stuff for the kids to play in this Christmas.  If only that were Seasonally true for Virginia...a girl can dream.

Beautiful Rooms showcases a white on white table display with lots of yummy desserts.  It's not hard to do since there are so many vanilla based dessert recipes to choose from.

Great ideas come from Modern Party Ideas blog.  Sugar cookies hanging from white branches is genius for an eye catching edible centerpiece.

Punch Bowl offers great inspiration in party decorating.  I love the glow of the candles and Christmas tree for this white and silver table display.

Hostess with the Mostess shares meringue tree's.  Simply buy a styrofoam cone from your locate craft store and frost it with royal icing.  Stick store bought or homemade meringues (or even sugar cookies or white call cookies) to it to create edible Christmas trees. Brilliant.

Another great picture from Punch Bowl.  The glow of the lights against the glass ornaments and wine glasses is romantic and spiritual.  The addition of the Star fish adds a creative and unexpected element.

Make room for alchemy fine events.  Alway a great source for practical tips and party advice.  Use simple store bought white desserts such as donuts, cookies and marshmallow snowmen with white carnations to inspire a Winter Solstice table display.

 Even though this takes away from the white on white look, I love the addition of dark brown to add a bit of pop to this dessert table.  With the dishes, backdrop, table and doilies being white, it still gives off that monochromatic feel.  Check it out at At Home with Kim Vallee
