First, combine all wet ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients. I used bacon flavored treats but you can use bacon bits, or real bacon too.
Grab a cookie cutter...of course, the doggy bone is my first choice for dog cookies. You can purchase one HERE if you don't have one.
I think the speckles of red bacon bits makes it look a festive Christmas cookie. So sweet for my baby dog.
Peanut Butter & Bacon Dog Cookies
Ingredients
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cup ground oats
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
2 tablespoon honey
1 egg beaten and at room temperature
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup chopped bacon, bacon bits or bacon flavored dog treats.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl combine all wet ingredients until well blended. Mix dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture until well combined. This will form a ball of dough. Add more flour or water as needed for a play dough like consistency.
2. Roll out dough on a lightly floured work surface.
3. Cut out with dog bone cookie cutter.
4. Place treats on a parchment lined baking sheet (they can be close together, just not touching)
and bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
5. Cool on a wire rack completely.
6. Store in a sealed container for a few weeks or you can freeze them for later use.
Yields about 15 cookies.
