Valentine cookie balls

If you held onto those cookies scraps from my previous post  you can turn them into a dessert bite that's sinfully delicious.  It's a cookie pop similar to that of Bakerella's cake pops .  I was so giddy that I came up with something to do with those heavenly scraps that I forgot to take pictures of the process...whoops!  Just follow bakerella's link above to get the gist of making ball treats if you get lost.  If you don't have scraps of cookies from the previous post, no worries.  Just make a batch of cookies and follow the directions below.

You will need

First

Take your cookie scraps or bake a batch of your favorite cookies following your recipe for baking instructions.  If baking use only 5-7 cookies or double the ingredients above.

Second
Dump the warm from the oven cookies in your kitchen aid bowl and add a few tablespoons of buttercream and combine with your paddle attachment.  The mixture should be moist enough to hold a round shape but still be firm.

Third

Roll out about a tablespoon of cookie mixture in the palms of your hands and stick a cookie treat stick in the middle.  Put in the refrigerator to cool until firm.

Fourth

Warm the remaining buttercream in the microwave for 25 seconds or until thin consistancy.  Then dip your cookie balls into the buttercream, tap gently to remove excess buttercream and put on a wire rack and immediatly add sprinkles.  Let dry completely.

Happy baking,

Buttercream
