Snicker's Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookies

Halloween candy is filling the aisle's at every store and it's time to start getting creative in the kitchen with it. After all, there are more ways to enjoy this time of year then just purchasing candy in bulk just to give it away in one night. Why not keep some for yourself and treat your kiddos to a cookie treat that melts in your mouth. This experiment was one I had been thinking of trying since I first stuffed an Oreo cookie inside chocolate chip cookie dough to see what would happen. An idea I found while googling fabulous cookie recipes. The results were indeed fab!  I needed to try more.  More I tell you. This time candy. Tons of candy in all of those aisle's to cram into dough!  But, I thought I would start small. My first guinea pig was a bag of Snickers miniatures. My favorite candy and the only candy I ever sneak out of my kids trick or treat bags.  I thought the Snickers would pair well with peanut butter cookies so I whipped up a batch and crammed them inside one by one. Then something spooky happened. Freshly baked cookies were placed on the cooling rack when...POOF!  In an instant they were gone. Just like that.  Wah-Wah-Wah!

Oh, how I love my little Snicker babies.

No need for commentary because the pictures pretty much sum it up.  But just in case for some wacky reason you can't see the pics...here ya go!

Roll out a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter cookie dough into a ball.  Like a meatball.  Unwrap the Snicker's and place one in the middle.  Make another ball the same size and smash down on the top and lightly seal the edges in the palms of your hands.

These were the last I saw of these sweet, golden, goodies.

YUM! That pretty much sums it up.

Snickers Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookies

1/2
cup granulated sugar
1/2
cup packed brown sugar
1/2
cup peanut butter
1/4
cup shortening
1/4
cup butter or margarine, softened
1
egg
1 1/4
cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
3/4
teaspoon baking soda
1/2
teaspoon baking powder
1/4
teaspoon salt
  1. Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, butter and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  2. Heat oven to 375ºF.
  3. Shape dough into balls (about a tablespoon each).  Place one ball on a clean work-space.  Flatten slightly. Place an unwrapped Snickers miniature in the middle of the dough.  Place another ball on top of the Snickers and flatten slightly.  Shape dough into a ball in the palms of your hands and seal the edges together.
  4. Place about 3 inches apart on un-greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies
