My third child had his First Communion last weekend and since I posted last year when my older two had theirs, I thought I should be fair and do the same for him. It was the perfect day with family, friends and lots of sunshine. We are very proud of our boy and happy that he reached such an important milestone.

You knew I would post this didn't you...yes, the cake. A decadent chocolate cake filled with Oreo buttercream (recipe below) and topped with fudge frosting. This cake melted in your mouth and was death by chocolate experience. I will add this to my menu at buttercream this week.
You can find it HERE
Okay, so if you haven't figured it out by now this is my dining room and where I put the dessert bar at ALL my parties. It's the perfect out of the way spot and easy to decorate.
(next time I'll take the plastic off the cookie platters BEFORE I take a picture..whoops!)
Easy party favors. Just candy in a bag that coordinated with the party colors. I don't fuss, especially over favors that most people throw away, forget, leave in the car for months or give to their kids. Let's face it, kids won't notice the labor and work involved in tricky, intricate, expensive favors.
SAY NO TO FUSS!
Chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream and marble cake dessert shots. Both leftover from a previous order I had that day. Threw them together and VOILA! A new and tasty dessert.
I waste NOTHING!
Brownie pops had to make an appearance. They are a HIT every single time.
Italian orange cookies and black pepper spice crosses.
Garland I made with scrapbook paper and round punches. So easy and adds a personal touch.
Me and my boy cutting his cake. It was delicious!
Thanks for letting me share our special time with you.

Hi there, my first time here. Thank you so much for following me.
ReplyDeleteYour cakes are beautiful. This is a great dessert table you did for your little one, I love the idea of the cake "shots"
