Nothing says Valentines Day more than a cupcake
made with love for that special someone. This heavenly
chocolate cupcake draped in chocolate ganache is
borrowed from Martha Stewart's cupcakes book.
Make them for your kiddos, make them for your sweetie
or more importantly, just make 'em!
First, start with your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe
Now, let's make the Ganache...it's easy. Really.
Next, dunk your "oh, so chocolaty" cupcake
The last step!
Heat 2/3 cup heavy cream and 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
in saucepan on medium heat to a simmer.
Next, take 6 ounces of chocolate (any semisweet brand)
finely chopped and put in a heatproof bowl.
Pour hot cream mixture over chocolate and let stand 5 minutes.
Gently begin to stir
Don't worry if it looks watery and lumpy, you didn't mess up.
It goes through stages of wierdness before...
It looks like this!
Next, dunk your "oh, so chocolaty" cupcake
(I'm getting excited here) into the ganache head first!
lift straight up, then give her a whirl
( a flick of the wrist)
Let them set for 30 minutes
The last step!
Martha wants you to melt white chocolate and put it
in a piping bag to pipe sweet messages onto your
cupcake...so I did.
But honestly, the white chocolate hardened so quickly
in the piping bag (that will be fun to clean) that I decided
I didn't like that idea. I began to rummage through my pantry
for a suitable substitute.
A can of strawberry icing did the trick (shh...I don't know
why I had this, I always make my own buttercream.
Hence, the name of my business...Buttercream!
Happy Valentine's Day
Yummmmm!!!!!!!!
